Objective:
My goal is to inform and educate the American people about common environmental concerns while challenging the misguided and harmful leftist-Democrat monopoly control of environmental activism and advocacy in the United States.
I want to offer an alternative to the current leftist-dominated environmental movement we see today, an agenda that is increasingly anti-capitalist, anti-affordable energy, and anti-prosperity, while at the same time indifferent to the harmful effects of increasing crime and diminished public safety.
Background:
For over 30 years, I have dedicated a significant amount of my life working on worthy environmental causes, sometimes as a paid professional or volunteer, and at times investing my own money, resources, and labor in entrepreneurial initiatives and projects.
As a matter of principle, I have prided myself on being objective and nonpartisan while working with individuals and groups from diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and political persuasions.
Beginning in 2006, following the release of Al Gore’s film An Inconvenient Truth, I have witnessed an environmental movement increasingly alarmist, propagandized, and politically partisan; moreover, I experienced an environmental movement embracing an ideological agenda counter to (opposed to) the economic and material well-being of the American people and hostile to many positive aspects of traditional American culture; an environmental movement willing to sacrifice objectivity and truth to achieve its goals, while using coercion and disciplined message control to advance a misguided and harmful agenda.
Al Gore’s film An Inconvenient Truth, despite being a sensationalistic polemic exaggerating the potential impact of manmade global warming, An Inconvenient Truth, after receiving a considerable amount of media attention and institutional accolades, and lauded as a groundbreaking documentary film, An Inconvenient Truth, issued in a new era of climate change alarmism that continues to this day. A form of environmental-advocacy-dogmatism intensifying in more recent years. An era of environmental alarmism used to justify a radical set of priorities that, seemingly, seeks to advance the interests of an elitist and politically maligned group of wealthy individuals, who are, stealthily and under the guise of philanthropy, providing a concentrated bulk of targeted funding to the most influential environmental organizations; groups whose advocacy efforts, appear to be at the expense of what is in the best interest of the majority of middle class and working-class Americans, and increasingly at the expense of rural and suburban landowners
In 2015, I began developing The Environment and The Republic website and various related supporting projects, with the goal of (1) promoting a more objective and commonsense-focused perspective on environmental concerns as an alternative to today's leftist-dominated environmental advocacy mantra that focuses solely on climate change alarmism over more pressing environmental concerns, (2) motivating and encouraging political conservatives, republicans, libertarians, independents, and others to challenge the leftist-Democrats’ environmental advocacy monopoly by setting forth a more practical set of environmental advocacy priorities, (3) providing guidance and informational support to individuals and groups seeking to take action to facilitate and further the above goals and objectives, (4) increasing outreach to the public, media, elected officials, decision-makers, and business leaders.
To continue this work and to further the above goals, I am asking for your support.
