Rally for Reagan!
If you’ve met Reagan for even a moment your life has been changed. She exudes all that is good in this world and leaves everyone she touches better. Ever hear the expression, “she leaves a little sparkle in her trail”? That’s our girl.
Last year, Reagan was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia. The only cure for this disease is a bone marrow transplant, which Reagan was blessed enough to receive in February after countless hospital stays, chemotherapy, and blood transfusions. With this miracle, she got right back to living her 24 year old life, and in true Reagan spirit she ran a half marathon, vacationed with friends, and most importantly changed her life’s focus to become a transplant nurse to pay back her gift tenfold. We weren’t kidding when we said she leaves everything she touches better!
Last month, Reagan’s body began rejecting her transplant, and her family was heartbroken to see her receive two new diagnoses of MDS and HLH, which both have the same treatment plans as before. Reagan is in the fight for her life and needs her team rallying behind her again.
If love and faith alone could cure an illness the Meyers family would be the healthiest around. There are no better parents on earth than Gary and Heather. Both have been by her side since day one, along with their amazing boys. But that is not the reality we live in. Medical bills from 1.5 years of constant hospital stays, expensive medications, and all that comes with being care takers has taken a toll. They are the most humble people and give, give, give and need their community more than ever.
If you have been an Arizona or Prosper friend of Reagan’s, an OU sorority sister, a colleague or just lucky enough to have met her once… if you have been blessed to have Mrs. Meyers as your first grade teacher and been a part of Ohana… If you love a member of this family…we ask that you contribute whatever you can. And if you can’t contribute, we ask for your deepest prayers for Reagan specifically that her body heals, her doctors and nurses are able to find a cure, and that she never loses her sparkle. She has so much more to give this world and her story is not done. We are so grateful for your help as she navigates this chapter.
With love,
The Rally for Reagan team
