March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month- a disease that comes in many forms and does not discriminate. An estimated 148,000 people are diagnosed each year in the U.S, which affects the lower digestive tract and is the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States.
I watched the strongest, most caring man I know fight to his last breath. On March 14, 2014, my father lost his battle to colon cancer and it has set me on a mission to give back and help those I can.
My father will forever be my hero and inspiration to help others and give back however I can. March is my time to fight for my Dad and help those that I can in memory and honor of him.
