Kenzie’s recovery ❤️
Donation protected
Kenzie, while leashed and within our reach was attacked last night by 1 of a pack of 3 Husky / Malamute dogs who were unleashed and roaming out of sight of their owner at a public park in Barrie, ON.
When the three dogs approached from the woods, we tried to grab her but she ran up a tree, at which point the larger Husky grabbed her and began flailing her around. Katie and I jumped on the dogs and were able to free Kenzie after about 5 seconds.
Unfortunately Ken suffered a punctured lung and some fractured ribs and is currently hospitalized. We’ve already spent over $3000 in the first night and as young adults only a few years into our careers, we need help.
We are praying that she makes a full recovery and is able to come home to us soon. Even small donations would go a long way at this point. We don’t want to give up.
Thank you,
Mitch and Katie
MORE DETAILS
She’s a 20 week old beautiful and intelligent little brown Bengal. If you’re a cat person you’ll know Bengals require far more stimulation than the average cat.
We’ve harness trained her, and only take her out attached with her leash to her carrying harness, which she uses for shelter and is already accustomed to.
The problem last night was 3 young unsupervised dogs bounding up to a group of people completely out of control and unleashed in a public park - owner nowhere in sight. This sudden ambush created a panicked scenario for Kenzie and the dogs snapped into a pack mentality to chase her up the tree…
All of this is so easy to prevent and so hard to undo.
If you can, please donate to help her recovery.
Thank you
