The Perry Family ❤️

Donation protected

Hi everyone,

For those of you who don’t know me, I will introduce myself first. My name is Lauren Kahns and Andrea Perry is my dear friend. We met as young, new nurses beginning our nursing career at Sacred Heart during orientation in 2012. We had an instant bond and have been there for each other through the highs and lows that life has brought over the past decade. Through the big events, little events, and all of the in between moments, Andrea has been a constant, supportive presence in my life. She is hands down, one of the most giving human beings I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.

Now, Andrea needs our support.

On December 20th, 2021 Andrea and Ryan’s life was interrupted with shocking news. What was deemed to be a seemingly uneventful colonoscopy screening resulted in stage 3 colon cancer (t3C). Andrea is 32 years old. She is a wife, a mother to two beautiful children (Blakeley 2.5 years and Grayson 4.5 months) an ER nurse, and in just a short 4 months she will be graduating from Gonzaga University with her Masters of Science in Nursing. This woman does it all and I am in constant awe of her.

There are still a lot of unanswered questions. However, this is what we do know:

We know that Andrea has stage 3 colon cancer. We know that given this prognosis she will be undergoing a mixed dose of radiation and chemo, followed by invasive chemo, and if all goes well she will have a surgical resection towards the end of this treacherous climb. We are looking at an approximately 7 month long treatment plan. Her and Ryan meet with the Oncologist and ancillary team on Thursday, Dec 23rd to determine what chemo she will be on and when therapy will be starting.

In the meantime I will ask you this. If you are in the place to give, please consider donating and supporting the Perry family through this very difficult time. The costs donated will go towards unforeseen expenses over the next several months (ie. child care, meals ect.). Andrea will be taking a medical LOA from her job as an ER nurse to solely focus her time on treatment, raising her babies and working towards trying to finish her masters program if able. If you are unable to donate financially, please keep this beautiful family in your thoughts and prayers.

As time goes on, I will keep this page updated. Thank you in advance for your support.
