My name is Amanda and in 2011 I met the man of my dreams and the love of my life, Robert Szlapa. We live in Clermont Florida with my two children, Logan age four and Robbie age two.
Robert is a self employed truck driver and I am a stay at home mom. We were taking care of Robert's father who has Alzheimer's which provided us with a small income for providing that care. We are currently living in Robert's fathers house which has a reverse mortgage on it and is owned by the bank.
On March 10, 2016 Robert had a stroke leaving him with some minor diablilities causing him to be unable to drive and therefore unemployed. On March 26, 2016 Robert's father John Szlapa passed away. Two days later while Robert was getting dressed to go to the funeral home to make the final arraignments for his father, Robert had another massive stroke rendering him totaled disabled and unable to even take care of himself at this point.
Robert, the two children and I now find ourselves in the position of having to ask for financial assistance to even survive with the basic necessities. Robert is now unemployed, I am looking for work and the bank is about to foreclose on the house which will leave us without a place to live. Robert does not have any health insurance which is adding to our already overwhelming stack of bills. Our electricity was cut off two day ago but with the help of friends and family we were able to get it turned back on temporarily.
My my mother and step father are helping us and they have reached out to friends and family for assistance but the fact is they can not afford to provide us with enough money to catch up our bills or provide our basic living expenses. I am in the process of applying for disability for Robert but it is unknown if and when it will be approved. Robert is still in the hospital and will most likely be moved at some point to a rehab facility.
We we are at the end of our rope and are reaching out for financial assistance so that our family can make it though this time of total devastation and can get back on our feet.
