To those who love my brother Steve:   We are reaching out to ask for financial support as we navigate a very difficult medical situation. On March 6th, Steve suffered a massive heart attack. After 17 days in the ICU, he is now in hospice care at his daughter Emmy’s home in Prescott, Arizona. 

Though we are receiving hospice support, his prognosis and healing trajectory are an unknown quantity. We are still trying to “find X” as Steve, the math teacher, would say.  We are hoping he will be able to rally — and we don’t know what that might look like — but, for now, he needs 24/7 care.  

We are facing large medical bills from his extended hospital stay as well as completely unknown costs ahead as we work to secure the right care team and situation. Currently, his daughter Emmy is taking unpaid time off work to house and care for him. Our hope is that he continues to improve and make his way back to his own home and his vibrant life, including a return to the job he loves as a beloved math teacher.  

Steve is one of a kind – which you already know if you know Steve. He is kind, a giver with a generous soul and the one who makes everyone he connects with feel deeply understood. He has made a profound impact on his students at Northpoint. He is a creative, funny, brilliant, and beloved teacher, father, son, brother, and friend.
