On November 30th, I was struck by a car riding my bicycle through a crosswalk. My left side was pinned between the car and my bike before being thrown off of the hood as the car continued to accelerate. I sustained lacerations and bruising to my leg, but thankfully no broken bones. My helmet was a lifesaver for sure. Two extremely care giving pedestrians assisted me get an ambulance.
The driver thankfully stopped, but was of little help and remorse. They’re insured, albeit through a diplomatic entity here in DC, so I’m hoping medical and recovery costs will be covered eventually, but nothing is certain, nor is it immediate.
If you don’t already know, I rely on being on my feet and mobile most days to earn a living, so while I’m recovering I could benefit from your generosity for groceries, bike repairs, and to not fall behind during this important season.
No donation is too small, and I’m ever so appreciative for any and all help you can lend.
Love Always Wins, Brendon
