Urgent Dental Surgery Needed to remove infection
In 2014, I was diagnosed with a dental disease called spontaneous internal tooth resorption, which causes dental abscesses and the breakdown of teeth. I tried for all these years to save my teeth, but at this point, they are so weak that the only option is to have them removed. It has been something I knew would eventually happen just not this soon and urgently so that I don't end up back in the hospital very sick again.
In late January of this year, I had an abscess I wasn't aware of, and by the time we learned about it, I had sepsis, meningitis, osteomyelitis in my spine that has totally eaten one of my disc's in my spine and a large abscess on my spinal cord. It all came from a dental abscess caused by my dental disease. I spent two and a half weeks in North Alabama Medical Center, had two neck surgeries where they took off some of my spine to access my spinal cord and clean out infection that they had to do urgently bc of possible permanent paralysis, a picc line for twice a day iv antibiotics at home for 8 weeks and along with other struggles and complications. So on top of my teeth breaking down, they almost killed me, so it's urgent and imperative that I get them removed. They said if i dont i will end up back in the hospital. I'm blessed with dental insurance through my employer, which will pay $1,500, but even after that, I will still owe $3,400 out of pocket to get my teeth removed and some to replace them. I don't like asking for help, but this is one time that I thought I would ask because in my case, it could kill me, so it's something that I have to have done. Anything that you can spare would mean the world to me. I just want to be a healthy person and a healthy mom and wife, and I want to be around a long time for my son, my husband, and my family. The doctors said I was very blessed that I didn't have a stroke, become paralyzed or even die. Everything I had can kill you on their own but combine all three and it's by God's grace that I'm still here. Thank you for taking the time to even read this.
