Help Rima and her family escape from Gaza

Dear friends,

We are reaching out to you today on behalf of our dear friend Rima, a resilient mother in Gaza who is fighting every day to keep her little family safe. Rima is pregnant and the mother of a three-year-old daughter, Mira, who has only known a life of war, displacement, and hardship.

Before the war, Rima and her husband worked hard to build a future for their child. Her husband, a dedicated pharmacist, spent over a decade working to open his own pharmacy—a dream that turned to ashes when their home and livelihood were destroyed. Since then, they have been struggling to survive without stable shelter, food, or medical care.

With prices soaring and resources scarce, Rima and her family have endured unbearable suffering. They have gone without food so their daughter could eat, lived through freezing nights without blankets, and endured relentless displacement. Now, as Rima carries new life amid unimaginable hardship, she is in urgent need of support for shelter, basic necessities, and prenatal care.

Below, we share Rima’s own words—her story of resilience, loss, and hope. We invite you to stand with her, to help ensure that her children have a future beyond war and hunger. Every donation, every act of kindness, is a step toward rebuilding the life they lost.

“Hello, I am a mother of a 3-year-old girl and I am pregnant with a new baby. My daughter grew up without a home, without the atmosphere of home and family, without toys like the rest of the children in the world. She grew up in fear and hunger. She was one year and three months old at the beginning of the war on Gaza and with the rise in the prices of diapers and milk. I tried to get her everything she needed, but because of the fear, bombing and displacement, we were unable to do so, and we are still suffering from the same situation until now, unfortunately.

We were displaced repeatedly to several places, and thanks to you we were able to rent a room with a bathroom for $1000 per month. I hope you will continue to support me so that we can stay in it after our house was completely bombed. Unfortunately, we did not take anything out of it and all our clothes were burned. Even though I only lived in it for 3 years.

Mira's father was a pharmacist who worked for 10 consecutive years in several places to be able to open a private source of income for himself and open his pharmacy and put all our money into this pharmacy on 10/7/2022. And exactly when the year was over, the war started and the place of income was closed, and when Khan Yunis was invaded, it was completely destroyed and also turned into ashes and our life became like hell, but we tried to live for the sake of our innocent child

Now I am pregnant but my pregnancy is weak due to poor nutrition and not taking vitamins as we need $500 per month for vitamins

We lived many days without eating in order to provide for our little girl. We pretended to be hungry, but she couldn’t bear it. We lived many days in the rain without any blankets, and I used to cover my little girl with my arms so that she wouldn’t die of cold. We ate a lot of flour, which was full of worms, but there was no alternative. Although our life before that was rosy beyond imagination, that was God’s will for us.

I wish you could help me save some money to build a part of our old pharmacy so we can depend on it for our livelihood as well. All my love to you my friends."
