Help Baby Beau
Donation protected
Hi,
Christine’s family has decided to come together and start a fundraiser for the future medical expenses of baby Beau.
At Christine’s 18 week ultrasound, Beau was diagnosed with Spina Bifida. Spina Bifida occurs when the neural tube of the baby fails to close during the first month of pregnancy. It can cause children to experience difficulty in walking, to have abnormal bladder or bowel function, and to need complex care for hydrocephalus, a buildup of fluid in the brain which often requires a shunt to be placed from brain to the abdominal cavity for drainage. Christine was referred to TX Children’s Hospital to have a trial procedure, Fetoscopic Neural Tube Repair, to help reverse some of the effects of Spina Bifida and preserve current motor function. She has experienced complications since the surgery in May and is now being monitored at TX Children’s Hospital until Beau’s delivery.
While we don’t know exactly what is ahead, we know Beau will stay in the NICU, have surgery (or surgeries), and attend various therapies to ensure his best health.
We are so proud of Christine, Corey, and her other two boys Ryan(13) and Tucker(3) for making sure Beau gets the best care.
Any donation is appreciated to help cover all the above expenses.
