New Update!
Julie and Ian are beyond grateful for all of the support they have received over the past 3 years. Thank you. If you are new to this story, thank you for reading.
Now- Life is still hard- harder often than they would like to admit. Continual sleepless nights, doctors appointments without clear answers and real life continues. The financial stress of paying for specialists and supporting their family is exhausting and adds a burden that is hard to bear in isolation.
We would love to see some financial love come to the Dunn family to bring relief and give them an opportunity to rest and connect with one another as well as pay for specialist doctors who may be able to help provide relief, answers and a path forward. If you are a praying person, please pray for perseverance and strength.
Julie and Ian love Sammy and Lucy so much and are doing everything they can to find joy in each moment. Thanks for giving them encouragement.
Previous update:
Please consider supporting the Dunn family! Sammy is a fighter and has had his ups and downs (see more below- too many for any child!) and in the recent weeks and months have hit another very hard spot.
He is back in the hospital for some serious and mysterious GI issues that are creating more bills and time away from home, having to eat out/ at hospital and defer parental work and sleep.
Your generosity will bring the possibility of sustainable peace as they walk this daily journey. Thank you in advance!
previous story:
Julie, Ian, Sammy and Lucy need our love and support! Sammy recently had heart surgery and came through well. After going home and beginning recovery, they have hit a major set back having to take Sammy back to the hospital in Phoenix with fluid on his lungs and the looming reality of another heart surgery to come in the next weeks, months or year.
This development not only weighs on their hearts, but also is another big hit with medical expenses and all of the things that come along with another long stay in the hospital in Phoenix away from home.
Please consider contributing to their family with your financial support and offering your prayers for comfort, miraculous healing and sustained strength for all of them.
Julie and Ian have the gift of remaining hopeful and positive, but this unexpected acute need for more care is hard. Thank you for considering and passing this along.
You can read the backstory here:
On September 19th, 2022, Julie and Ian discovered they were pregnant with their second child. What started with excitement soon turned to trepidation when they learned their child had cystic hygroma. This led to a series of meetings with fetal medicine specialists. The doctors diagnosed the baby with Trisomy-21 (Down's Syndrome) and an AV Canal, meaning there is a hole in the middle of the baby's heart that will eventually need to be repaired. They are expecting that the baby will be delivered early, will spend at least two weeks in the NICU, and need heart surgery four to six months after birth. Between the medical expenses and the need for Julie to be out of work to care for the baby, they are expecting a major financial hit. You can read the whole story and get regular updates here:
