Hello to all the kind, caring and loving humans out there who are about to read my story and think about helping!
Im Genai and My daughter is Akira.
our beloved e-bike has been stolen from our apartment complex due to a faulty garage door and someone took the opportunity to steal our e-bike.
It is now being investigated by police.
safe to say we will never see our beloved e-bike again, never know might show up…
can only hope.
I would love and appreciate your help with getting a new e-bike and our e-bike life back on track!
You might think it’s just a stolen e-bike…
It’s not just an e-bike to us.
for me and my Daughter Akira it’s life!
It’s been our main mode of transportation to travel to work, school and everything else in our life!
Its not just a e-bike…
The e-bike was a very special birthday gift from me to Akira for her 7th birthday.
we named her the unicorn and put rainbow streamers on the handles and stickers we’d collected. We made it ours.
The unicorn gave use freedom to travel together and spread quality time together when we are not at work or school.
The unicorn became way more important than I ever imagined.
Heres apart of our Unicorn story…
Im an Anaesthetist Agency Nurse and
full-time mum to Akira, who is a bright and shiny 8 year old.
Akira and my older 2 adult children are the light of my life and I’m a very proud mum.
At the start of the year my car was off the road for a new clutch and would take time and money to get my car back on the road. In the meantime I had to travel for work.
I didn’t know how I’d be able to get to work?!
My e-bike was a life saver!
The best and only option, so away I went on my e-bike life journey into the new year!
From January 2026 Ive been relying heavily upon my trusted e-bike for travel to work in and around the Gold Coast and commute to Brisbane.
Being an agency nurse I get sent to work at different facilities and locations.
so the e-bike worked out well.
when I’m not working, it is time to head out on my e-bike to rest and relax on the beach, swim in the ocean, coffee with friends. Being well rested is an essential element of the work I do.
Once the weekend arrives there’s nothing more my daughter and I love doing than jumping on our e-bike together and having quality time together in the sun, surf, parks, being out in nature, seeing friends and family.
E-bike is essential for our quality time together and life!
I work hard and love my job.
Akira works hard at school, does all her homework, a very smart girl who loves school and her friends.
We play hard, on our time off!
The rest and relax with Akira is the ultimate goal for me at the end of the working/school week.
we are either in uniforms or bikinis.
but always on our e-bike.
E-bike is life!
we are without an essential part of our life, e-biking is a huge part of our work/life balance.
our e-bike wasn’t just an e-bike.
It was a means to transport for my busy life as a mum, nurse, friend and member of our community.
The unicorn gave use freedom together.
Fun, adventure and joy in a time we both needed it. Actually saved my life and mental health by being excited to take Akira out for a ride after my own surgery and recovery in 2024.
Overtime, it’s been a life saver for travel to work while my car was being repaired and off the road earlier this year.
$4k repair bill. Not to worry, I had my e-bike to travel to work, work related education, training courses, appointments, meetings.
I’d e-bike everywhere.
I would even take it on the train to get to work on an early 6am 10hrs shift and make the return trip arriving home sometimes at midnight, to do it all again next shift.
The amount of times I said to myself “Thank god I have my bike, I love it!”
Finally I get my car back and life’s good.
Not waking up at 4am to make it to shifts on my e-bike.
I can get extra sleep!
Our e-bikes is back to being for work on the Gold Coast.
R&R with Akira after school and on the weekends and Easter holidays coming up!
Just as “Everything is coming up milhouse”
Life swings me another lesson with my car.
Saturday 28th March was my good friend’s sons first birthday.
we had a big day swimming and out in the sun and we had the best time but a lot of things to unpack from the car so I thought I’d park in the visitor only parking space quickly as it’s closer to the lifts.
we unpack the car and went upstairs and I completely forgot about moving the car.
it wasn’t until we left for the day to visit a friend at the beach and my car wasn’t there I’d realised it’s been towed.
Not to worry, we can e-bike to the beach.
Our last ride together was a beautiful sunny Sunday down to the beach to catch up with a friend, get some sun, swim in the ocean and sand between our toes before our working and school week started.
we parked in my car space as the car wasn’t in impound.
I locked our e-bike up as usual, heading in for diner, bath, bed for an early Monday morning start to the week.
I went and paid $450 to get my car out of impound. I drive home and into my car space and the e-bike was gone.
My heart sank.
I just cried at that point.
what was I going to do now?
we were going e-bike over the holidays!
Akira’s going to be devastated and so angry her e-bikes been stolen!
I got her after school and explained her e- bikes been stolen and the first thing she said was “who the heck would’ve stolen our e-bike mummy?! That’s SO unfair! Call the cops, let’s go looking for it! I want my e-bike mummy!”
explaining harsh and heavy realities to an 8 year old isn’t fun.
I told her, I will do what I’ve always done, find a way to make things work. So I can get to work. We can figure something out.
Thats what I always do. keep going and moving forward. We will get a new e-bike.
it’s tough times for everyone.
The cost of fuel might have been a motivation for my e-bike being stolen?!
Its tough times for every but nobody deserves to have anything stolen from them.
They say bad things happen in 3s!
The car braking downed was 1, the car being towed is 2 and the e-bike being stolen is 3!
Im hoping my luck will change now and get some help to get a new e-bike.
First Lucky thing for me is I sent out positive affirmations for a miracle to get the same e-bike.
As luck would have it iv found a brand new e-bike in the box!
As it’s Easter holidays I’m really hoping to spend the holidays with Akira out in nature on adventures on our new e-bike.
Now all I really need is for anyone who wants to help me, please make a donation to help us.
Any amount would greatly help, even if it’s just your morning coffee!
Just know your one small cup of coffee or donation will be going towards making a huge difference in mine and Akira’s life.
Getting me back on the e-bike for travel to work and living life with Akira.
Not all hero’s wear cape's.
Thank you if you got this far!
