Gigi’s medical expenses

Hello All,

This is a fundraiser to assist Golnaz (Gigi) Mokri with her battle against brain cancer. Gigi was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 and went through treatment, including chemotherapy, radiation, and a double mastectomy. She has undergone several surgeries for reconstruction which have left her with numerous scars and infections that refuse to heal. Despite all this, she was declared cancer free in late 2021! Until last month! Gigi had a seizure at work which resulted in her having a CT scan of her brain. Imagine the shock she felt when the doctor told her that she had five areas of growth in her brain that were causing swelling and resulted in the seizure. Further testing has revealed that she has stage IV metastatic brain cancer. The course of treatment her oncologist is suggesting includes stereotactic radiosurgery and systemic medications.

Gigi is the most deserving person I know! She is a nurse that has spent the last ten years of her career caring for cancer patients. She gives her all to her patients and loves what she does! She displays more kindness, compassion, and empathy than anybody I have ever met!

Her battle with breast cancer took a toll on her marriage resulting in divorce. She is a single mother of two beautiful boys ages 5 and 15. To make ends meet, she took a travel nurse assignment that does not provide her with medical insurance. Because of this, her medical expenses are quickly mounting! There may even be a point that she will not be able to continue to work and care for others in the fashion she loves!

I have known Gigi for 14 years. She is my best friend! More than that! She is my other half! Her friendship has helped me heal in more ways than I would have imagined! The persistence, patience, and kindness she pours into our friendship displays the soul of a saint! If anyone deserves assistance, it is her!
