Houdini Needs Your Help

Our sweet Houdini, our beloved 11-year-old feline escape artist (hence the name!), is in need of urgent dental surgery. For those who know us, you know our cats aren't just pets; they are our family. They bring so much joy and comfort to our lives, and right now, our Houdini isn't feeling his best.

Unfortunately, the last few months have been incredibly tough on our little family. We said goodbye to our dear 13-year-old Henry in January after doing everything we could to treat him, and just before that, we lost our sweet Marvin in December. Now, our 4-year-old Lucky has been dealing with health issues of his own, requiring extensive blood tests and a special prescription diet. The vet bills have piled up significantly, and while we wouldn't trade the time we had with Henry and Marvin, or the ongoing care for Lucky, our finances have taken a real hit.

Now, our Houdini is facing his own health challenge. Our vet has determined he needs dental surgery to alleviate pain and prevent further complications. As many of you know, pet healthcare costs can be substantial, and unfortunately, our health insurance doesn’t extend to our furry companions. Unlike some other medical expenses, there are no tax breaks to help offset these costs.

To add to the financial strain, the cost of student loan payments has also skyrocketed recently, making it even more difficult to manage these unexpected veterinary expenses.

This is where we humbly reach out to our wonderful friends and family. We know times are tough for many, and we would never ask if we weren't truly in a difficult position. We’ve never had a baby shower or a bridal shower, and honestly, this feels like our one and only "ask" for support from those who are able to give.

Any contribution, no matter how small, would make a world of difference in getting Houdini the care he desperately needs. It would mean he can go back to his playful antics and enjoy his golden years without pain.
