On September 7, Tim suffered a massive heart attack while spending time at one of his favorite places on earth: Howie’s. He collapsed suddenly, and CPR was performed until paramedics arrived. He was then life-flighted to Duluth, MN, where doctors worked urgently to stabilize him.
His condition has remained critical ever since. Tim was placed on an ECMO machine to keep his heart and lungs functioning, a ventilator to help him breathe, and a chest tube after his lung collapsed. Doctors also inserted a pump through his femoral artery to support blood flow through his blocked coronary arteries. His diabetes has made everything even more complicated, with blood sugars spiking.
Because of the seriousness of his condition, Tim was transferred to the University of Minnesota, where he has continued to fight surrounded by some of the best cardiac specialists in the country.
Today, September 10, doctors are checking for any signs of blood flow to his brain after a complete neurological exam showed no brain activity. Sadly, due to lack of oxygen, he has suffered a severe brain injury. If no blood flow can be confirmed, he will be removed from life support.
If you are able, please consider donating to help Tim’s family with bills, travel expenses, and final costs during this heartbreaking time.
