Let me tell you about Frank Simon and his family. Frank is a beloved coworker and dear friend. To know Frank is to love him. He served his country as a United States Marine, then went on to become a police officer for many years serving his community. He then joined GuardTexas as our Patrol Field Captain and all around "fix anything that's broken" guy. He never complains about anything, and always shows up with a big smile and a big booming laugh. We always know when Frank is at the office long before we see him.
He met his beloved wife Dora while they were still teenagers, and they have been devoted to each other ever since. Circumstances made it so they have been raising their young special-needs granddaughter when most people their age are enjoying retirement. However they have embraced raising her with their usual approach. With love, compassion and of course... lots of laughter. Never one complaint.
Recently Frank's dear wife Dora was given the devastating diagnosis of advanced ovarian cancer. He's been working overnight shifts, then coming home in the morning to get his granddaughter ready for school, then takes his wife to all her treatments and numerous doctors appointments. He does all this with unfailing devotion.
Unfortunately he was just diagnosed with COVID-19 on top of everything else, and is really sick. Our goal to help ease his burden and help pay towards their living expenses, unbelievably expensive medications for Dora, and mounting medical bills.
