Our daughter became ill suddenly within a matter of days. After multiple tests they suspect myocarditis. She was put on a ECMO machine and intubated. She was then transferred to Lucile Packard Children’s hospital at Stanford by helicopter. The ECMO machine will give Riley’s heart a break while it does all the work. Providing support for her body to fight the infection. She is currently in a medically induced coma and is medically paralyzed for her comfort and to allow her body to rest and heal. She will require a lengthy hospital stay, at Stanford for treatment and observation in the  cardiac intensive care unit. The money raised would be help Riley’s parents with all medical cost not covered by insurance and help them stay close to Riley since no parent would want to leave their child at a time like this. We are uncertain of what medical treatment Riley will need after discharge, as everything continues to change daily.
