Hi everyone! My name is Jade and l’m a low income student from immigrants parents. I’m a junior at a Jesuit high school and I receive straight A’s with a 3.8 GPA. There’s a program at my school that allows us students to travel around the world and I have chosen Seoul, South Korea. My school does not offer enough financial aid to cover the program but it’s been my mom’s dream to see her daughter study abroad at least once. So, I am fundraising for myself to pay for my airfare, my housing, and any other extras in the trip. My mom has always encouraged me to follow my dreams and pursue a higher education after high school, as I will be the first in my family to attend college. Anything will help make my mom’s dream of me studying abroad and my dream to study the Korean language and culture come true. This will not only benefit me but also my education and knowledge of different cultures and to see the world in a new light. As after this trip, I plan to get scholarships to further my education and get a career that will make my mom proud of her daughter. Thank you so much! And God bless!
