Stroke Recovery for Aaron R. Yoder

Donation protected
On December 26, 2018, my brother Aaron R. Yoder, had a stroke. Aaron was taken by ambulance to one of the hospitals in Philadelphia, PA. This hospital was unable to find where the blood clot was located and Aaron was transported by ambulance again, to Jefferson Memorial Neuroscience Hospital in Philly. After emergency surgery, doctors were able to locate the blood clot but were unable to remove it due to high risk of bleeding out. Doctors had put a stent into the blood clot. Aaron remained in ICU until he was stable and no more blood clots were found.  Doctors still do not know where this blood clot came from. Aaron is paralyzed on his right side.
Due to Aaron not having medical benefits, there was a delay in treatment in getting him the therapies he needed. And with any stroke victim, time is of the essence in recovery.
Aaron is originally from Sunbury, PA, and resided in Scranton, PA to fulfill his passion as a pastry chef. Aaron worked with many local restaurants. Aaron was to start his new job as a pastry chef, outside of Philadelphia, Friday the 28th after Christmas but never happened. Family had to call his new job and inform them about this unexpected incident.
Due to Philly being 3.5 hrs away from Sunbury, and the travel back and forth from Sunbury, has been taking its toll on our family. After much discussion with the doctors, we were able to have Aaron transferred to Danville HealthSouth Rehabilitation to be closer to home. Here Aaron will receive aggressive therapies to get him independent again. Aaron sees improvements within himself on a day-to-day basis and he is working on being able to move his right side.
I have set up this page to reach out for help with medical expenses and some personal expenses since Aaron is not employed. In advance, our family, "Thanks You" for taking the time out to read about Aaron's medical ordeal. Any amount of donation by you is forever in our gratitude. If unable to donate at this time, we simply request your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery. All donations will be handled by our parents, Al & Carol Yoder, to ensure Aaron's medical expenses are taken care of and some of his personal expenses. Thank you!
