August 2024 began like any other month for the Anderson family, but it quickly took an unexpected turn when Blake Anderson, a beloved father of three, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a fast-growing blood cancer that crowds out healthy cells in the bone marrow.
From August 24 to September 14, Blake received intensive inpatient care and chemotherapy. He is now undergoing outpatient treatments at Northside in Atlanta, home to one of Georgia’s top blood cancer programs. While responding well, the road ahead is long and challenging. Thankfully, the family has secured lodging at the American Cancer Society’s Hope Lodge, which has been a blessing.
Only one person can stay with Blake at the Hope Lodge, so his oldest daughter, Carlie (24), has primarily been by his side, with her sisters, Carris (22) and Callin (17), visiting and swapping out when possible. They are surrounded by a strong support system of family and friends who are helping during this difficult time.
Unfortunately, life’s expenses don’t pause for illness, and the family anticipates staying in Atlanta for at least the next three months. With their primary income on hold, they humbly ask for any support during this time.
Blake is more than his diagnosis—he’s a devoted father, a humble, hard-working man, and a source of love and laughter. He has always been a coach and guide, not just for his daughters but for their friends and cousins. He loves spending time with his girls, tending the farm on his tractor, and cheering for Alabama football (Roll Tide Roll!). His humor, humility, and deep love for his family are at the heart of who he is.
The family is incredibly grateful for the love, prayers, and support they’ve received. Your kindness has uplifted them, and they ask for continued prayers for Blake as he battles leukemia. Any donations will go toward his medical expenses and household bills.
Please feel free to share this GoFundMe with others. Every donation, prayer, and kind word gives them hope. Thank you from the bottom of their hearts.
