Ollie's Eye Surgery

Hi friends and family. My feral mongoose L.A. street dog Ollie had a sudden and acute flair up of glaucoma in his left eye this month. A trip to our vet was not productive and they sent us to VCA Emergency and Referrals where his ophthalmologist works. He was given meds for infection, pain and glaucoma and rechecked a week later. Long story short the eye needs to go. The glaucoma which causes swelling and massive spikes in the pressure of his eye is not being controlled by the meds and he is probably in some pain from it all the time.

Because of the ongoing costs of his other medical conditions (he's had two surgeries in the last year and has costly monthly medication and specialty foods) I am very much tapped out. But I can't ignore or wait for his eye surgery to happen. I am hoping that my network can provide some assistance to the little dog. I know that some of you have experienced his 'personality quirks'. He is a bitey little stinker who smells like a waste disposal plant most of the time and his bad attitude with strangers has not changed in my six years of owning him. But he is a survivor, he loves the people who take the time to gain his trust and despite his arthritis and other age-related issues he still gets the zoomies on a sunny morning.

He deserves to live out his final years as pain free and feisty as possible. If you are willing and able to assist with his surgery expenses I will cover whatever is left over and will send out homemade gifts to express my gratitude.

The amount I'm fundraising here is reflective of the initial cost of the surgery (low estimate $4,500, high estimate 5,500) as well as some of the costs of aftercare. I will post receipts of veterinary bills here).
