Our friends, Heidi and Lakhmi Chand, decided to move in together in December and found a place they could afford in Logan Heights. They had been there for only two months, and were buying stuff to fix it up and make it their own, when San Diego’s worst rainfall in over a 150 years happened.
The storm and sewage drains overflowed, and the inside of their place was drenched in over three feet of water and sewage in minutes. Almost nothing could be salvaged because what the water didn’t destroy, the raw sewage completely contaminated.
No help is coming from the city or state at this point, and they need money for shoes, socks, underwear, clothes, bedding, hygiene products, kitchenware – basic living essentials. These are immediate needs and of course they need money to replace everything else.
Any amount you feel like donating would greatly help.
