I am Leslie Nelson, Director of Dynamic Divas of Princess Anne (DDPA).
Yesterday, our beloved studio—home to the Dynamic Divas of Princess Anne—suffered devastating structural damage. At approximately 6:30 PM, a vehicle crashed directly through the side of our building and exited out the front, destroying key structural walls, personal property, and a large portion of our dance supplies and equipment.
For our youth aged 5 to 17, Dynamic Divas is far more than just a dance studio—it is a vital community pillar. We provide comprehensive training in majorette and hip-hop dance, offering young people a safe, empowering outlet that instills physical fitness, teamwork, self-confidence, and leadership skills. Beyond our regular studio practice, our dancers represent Somerset County in regional competitions and enrich our local culture through community parades, showcases, and youth engagement programs. Getting our doors back open quickly isn't just about restoring a physical space; it’s about restoring a home, mentorship network, and safe haven for our youth.
While we are grateful that no children or staff were inside at the time of the crash, our hearts are heavy. Seeing our space damaged like this is heartbreaking, but our commitment to our dancers and our community remains unwavering.
We are reaching out to ask for your support as we navigate this emergency. Because our current space is uninhabitable, we must act quickly to secure a new physical location, pay initial deposits, and replace essential supplies lost in the collision.
We need help with the following things:
- Securing a New Space: Deposits, first month’s lease, and emergency setup costs for a safe replacement studio.
- Replacing Damaged Equipment: Studio flooring, mirrors, sound equipment, mats, and storage.
- Replacing Supplies: Costumes, props, and instructional materials lost in the wreckage.
No amount is too small, and every single donation gets our dancers one step closer to stepping back onto the dance floor. If you are unable to donate financially, sharing this campaign with your network, local businesses, and social channels means the world to us.
Thank you in advance, from the bottom of our hearts for standing by Dynamic Divas during this challenging time. We will rebuild, and we will keep our dancers moving forward!
With gratitude,
The Dynamic Divas Family
