My name is Jamie Verley, and I work with adults with disabilities. One of the unique and amazing things about my job is that not only do I get to assist persons served in their everyday life, but I also get to help them travel.

In a few weeks, I will have the opportunity to travel with a young man named Dylon. Dylon is 29 years old and is diagnosed with a rare condition called Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 5. Dylon is terminal and has very little time left to enjoy things that require him to be mobile.

Recently, Dylon won a 7-day cruise given by the company I work for. Although all of the travel, meals, lodging, and the cruise are covered, the extras are not. Dylon is an adventurous guy who would love the opportunity to swim with dolphins, go parasailing, try his hand at ziplining and snorkeling, and have an up-close encounter with monkeys and macaws. I would also like to mention that Dylon lives in Powell, WY and has never traveled further than Billings, MT in his entire life.
