Helping Dylan Live Life to the Fullest

Dylan is 15 and lives with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a progressive muscle-wasting condition that affects almost every aspect of his daily life.

As his mum, one of the hardest parts of DMD is knowing that his needs will continue to change. But while there are so many things about this condition that we cannot control, there is one thing we can do — make sure Dylan gets to live, not simply exist.

Thanks to the incredible support we have already received, we have been able to fund a seat riser for Dylan’s wheelchair, giving him more independence and allowing him to experience the world from a different height. Something that may sound small to others can make an enormous difference to Dylan.

Going forward, any money raised through this GoFundMe will be used to help give Dylan the best quality of life possible.

That may mean specialist equipment, adaptations or items that could improve his independence and comfort but aren't available through NHS or statutory funding. It may also mean experiences, days out, trips, gigs and adventures — things that allow Dylan to make memories with the people he loves.

DMD already takes enough.

We don't want finances or accessibility to take even more.

Our aim isn't to fill Dylan's life with medical appointments and equipment. It's to fill it with laughter, experiences, adventures and memories — while making sure he has the equipment and support he needs as his condition progresses.

Every donation, no matter how small, helps us give Dylan more opportunities to say "I did that."
