Dylan's Head Shave for Ashlee

One of my fellow class members Ashlee Knight has been diagnosed with an optic nerve glioma and intracranial hypertension. Ashlee was diagnosed in November of 2020 and her senior year of high school in 2021 has been disrupted with lots of chemotherapy whilst trying to balance her senior assessment. Ashlee is a beloved member of our school and she is truly amazing, she is so resilient, determined and cheerful despite what she is going through. The cost for her family has been overwhelming and the senior students of Mackay Northern Beaches SHS want to do what we can to support her family with the cost of accommodation, travel and treatments. To support Ashlee, I am committing to shaving my hair on the 13th of August to show my support. I will donate my hair to create wigs for children suffering long term medical conditions and shave my head in support of those who suffer from medical complications that result in hair loss. I know there are a number of other students who intend on doing the same and more of us will join the cause.
