Dylan's fight for fairness - paralyzed and persevering rally

Donation protected
Hello

My name is Martina Judge. I am Dylan's maternal Grandma. Dylan had a bad accident just 3 months before his 21st birthday that left him paralyzed from the waist down. He was hit by an F-150 truck going 55 mph while walking. He is now confined to a wheelchair for over 8 years. He collects Social Security Disability Income and he works part time at the same job for the last 6 years. The picture of Dylan on his graduation day for his Associates Degree sports a Gold Tassel which means he graduated with Cum Laude. He has completed one semester at Western Illinois University and has a 3.8 GPA. Dylan is studying to become a CPA.

The reason for this GFM page is to raise money for his Emergency. Dylan recently received a letter from the Social Security Office saying that he has exceeded his allowable income limit in April 2022 by going over by a few dollars. The SS office then sent a letter telling him that he is no longer eligible to receive disability, that he owes them $45000 and that they are cutting off his income.

Dylan is still paralyzed.
Dylan is still eligible for SSD income.

Dylan has already spoken to the SS office and paid a visit in person. They told him there is nothing they can do since they have already ended his income in the system, and that he must appeal it. This appeal process can take 9 months to a year before he has his SSD income restored. This also could involve doing the entire qualification over again and going in front of a judge as though he had just become paralyzed. This could take even longer.

Dylan is a homeowner, he works hard as much as they will let him, and he is actively pursuing his education to become a CPA, he is getting superior grades, and will be earning his OWN money once he completes his education. After that he will no longer need SSD income and will be earning his own well deserved money as a CPA and he already has a promised job offer once he completes his education and becomes a CPA.

I called the SS office myself just to see what they would tell me. They said this is unfortunate, but it happens more often than you think. Some overworked agent doesn't do their due diligence, and just randomly cuts off some DISABLED person's income without so much as a courtesy investigation first.

Dylan is doing everything he can to make the best of his challenging life. He is 28 years old and misses out on so many things that most other kids in their 20's simply take for granted - like walking, running, getting in and out of a car etc.

Dylan doesn't deserve to have all this extra devastation added to his already challenging life. He wheels through snow and rain to get from his house to his car. He has to take the chair apart and put it back together every single time he gets in and out of the car. He makes the best out of it though and I am so very proud of his determination to have a better life.

He is my inspiration, my joy and I wish that I could fix this problem for him but I do not have the ability to cover the loss of his SSD income for 10-12 months. I chose an amount that would buy some time for Dylan to keep his mortgage and shelter costs paid until this can all be addressed and resolved because as i said before .....

Dylan is still paralyzed
Dylan is still eligible for SSD income

And he does NOT deserve this!!

Please do anything you can to help me help Dylan and God Bless those of you who do
