My name is Simone, and I am raising funds to honor my son, Dylan Garcia, who passed away on September 11th, 2024. Every year on his birthday, January 9th, Dylan would ask for one thing—my homemade taquitos. No matter how many times I offered to buy him frozen ones, he always insisted on the ones I made with love. This year, I want to keep that tradition alive by celebrating his birthday with a remembrance gathering at the park, surrounded by everyone who loved him.
Hosting this celebration means so much to me, but the costs of making Dylan’s favorite taquitos and providing for everyone have become overwhelming. I need help purchasing tri tips, oil, avocados, corn tortillas, sour cream, paper plates, and root beer—everything that made his birthday special. Your support will help me bring together friends and family to share memories, laughter, and the food Dylan cherished most.
I invite everyone that Dylan loved and everyone who loved Dylan to join us on January 9th, 2026, at 2 p.m. at 16th Street Park. I will make all the taquitos myself, just as Dylan would have wanted, but I can’t do it alone. Any support you can give will help make this day a beautiful tribute to Dylan’s life and the love we all share for him. Thank you for helping me honor his memory in the way he would have loved most.
I have already bought some things with the amount that was donated and I am so grateful for the donations, more than you will ever know. I am approximately $415 short of what its going to cost. Anything you could donate would be greatly and forever appreciated.
