So this election day will definately be one I'll NEVER forgot, not because Trump won the election but because my youngest son Dylan was diagnosed with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Which is a fast-growing cancer of a type of white blood cells called lymphocytes that crowds out bone marrow, preventing it from making the normal red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets that your body needs.
With that being said, my whole life just got flipped upside down with the initial phone call I got while at work saying Dylan was being rushed to Children's Hospital because is primary care doctor didn't like the way he looked. Now mind you Dylan was just going to see his doctor because he wasn't feeling well for a couple of days. We thought Dylan had a cold possibly strep because his lymph nodes were swollen around his throat. Little did we know he also had swollen lymph nodes under his armpits, groin area & on his skull..After being seen at Boston Children's Hospital doctor's took a look at Dylan and knew right away that he had Leukemia, but the doctor wanted the blood work to confirm the leukemia, before he could tell me for sure what it was. He was right it was Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or ALL for short. Upon immediate admission Dylan received a platelet & blood transfusion immediately, in the past 19 days he's had 6 spinal taps (because his initial one had positive signs of the leukemia in his spinal fluid they didn't like, so he has to do 2 extra spinal taps a week until he gets 3 negatives) and he will be starting cranial radiation soon. We just found out that he is being treated for an infection in his belly additional 28 days inpatient, so Dylan's wish to be home by Christmas will sadly not be happening. It breaks my heart that all he wants to do is put the star on the real Christmas tree that he usually picks out. We will continue to take this process day by day & continue to rely on my faith in GOD to walk us through this life long illness that my baby has been diagnosed with...
I'm setting this Go fund me page up to help take care of Dylan's financial needs during treatment, since I just finished up getting my unemployment benefits and just started working part time after being laid off since April. It takes alot for me to suck up my pride & to be able to say that I'm really scared and that I'm reaching out for help.
