My eldest son Dylan moved school at the beginning of the year. He’s a lovely kid with some challenges interacting socially and it’s been a tough couple of months for him making friends and finding his feet in a new and probably quite scary environment.

 On Wednesday he took part in a walkathon to raise money for an outdoor undercover area in the school campus. Importantly for me, the child with the highest contribution will be ‘Principal for the Day’ – a sure fire way to make friends you might say! There are other prizes for each class and I’m sure any contribution he could make would raise his self-esteem. He has been doing his own fund-raising but what kind of Dad would I be if I didn’t look to my friends and colleagues for help.
