Dylan's adventures and travels
Don protégé
Dylan is our beloved friend and former medical school classmate. He is generous and giving, always eager to lend a helping hand. He is incredibly intelligent, known throughout our med school class for his kick-ass study guides and amazing intellect. He is a talented musician. He loves the outdoors. He is an avid skier, hiker, and rock climber. He is a passionate advocate for human rights. He has become a phenomenal physician, treating his patients with the utmost compassion and respect, and giving his all to their medical care. He is hilarious, always quick to crack a joke, and the best type of friend you could possibly have.
He has given us so much, and now we want to give back. Less than 6 months into starting his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Utah, Dylan woke up one day with left sided vision loss and a headache. An MRI revealed a large mass in his brain. Dylan was rushed in for neurosurgery, where they were able to remove the brain tumor, but pathology confirmed it as glioblastoma, grade IV brain cancer. The cancer is life-limiting; Dylan's medical team predicts 1-2 years.
We don't know for sure how much time we have left with Dylan. We hope it's much longer than 1-2 years. But what we do know is that we want to fill Dylan's life with as much joy and laughter as possible. We want to fund any travel or adventures Dylan might desire (covid permitting). We want to offset the cost of his medical treatment, so that it's one less thing he has to worry about. We want to provide all the emotional and financial support possible to our dear friend who never asks for anything for himself, but could use some extra support right now.
Thank you for your time and your contributions. We greatly appreciate it. And to Dylan: we love you so so so much and we are always always here for you.
Update:
Dylan passed away peacefully early in the morning on January 24. We are so grateful for your support of Dylan throughout his life. He was and is so loved.
I turned off donations to this fundraiser after his passing. If you feel inclined, here is another fundraiser, to help with funeral/memorial costs, organize celebrations of life in honor of Dylan, and donate to causes Dylan was passionate about.
