Dylan and Seamus will be representing Canada in the WAKO World Junior Kickboxing Championship in Jesolo Lido, Italy, between September 30-October 9, 2022.

Dylan is a 17-year-old from Bowmanville who has been focused on his training in Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu and MMA for 10 years. Seamus is a 13-year-old from Oshawa who has been focused on his training in Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu for 4 years. They both train at Kalsamrit Muay Thai in Bowmanville. Their coach, Brendan Kalijundic will also be travelling with the boys.

This prestigious international event will bring together athletes from over 70 countries to vie for the honour of being crowned 'World Champion'. Dylan and Seamus are humbled, excited, and ready for this incredible opportunity.

One of the biggest challenges facing Canadian athletes and coaches begins before they even step into the competitive ring. The basic cost associated with attending the Championships is approximately $5000 per athlete or coach. In addition, due to covid restrictions, the boys have to supply their own 2 sets of headgear (red and blue-to accommodate what corner they are fighting out of), 2 sets of gloves (red and blue), and 2 sets of shin pads (red and blue).
