In loving memory of Dylan J. Schoenecke who was taken from us too soon. Dylan, 21, of Cambridge passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 19th, 2023. He was born on August 18, 2002 to David Schoenecke and Miranda (Crossman) Schuenke. Losing a child is not something a family prepares for. During this difficult time we, as friends and family, are starting this fundraiser to help ease the financial burden of the funeral and other costs associated with this tragedy. Your support of any amount will provide the family the mental space needed to help process their grief. Please read the obituary below to learn more about Dylan and the plans for his funeral.
Dylan graduated from McFarland High School Class of 2020 while also previously attending Cambridge High School. During his time in high school he earned an apprenticeship with JX Truck Center of Madison. There was nothing Dylan loved more than breaking down machines to learn how they worked and then (eventually) putting them back together to get them running again.
He was especially passionate about antiques and other vintage possessions. Rustier the better he used to say which always fueled his old soul. One of his favorite activities year after year was attending the Rock River Thresheree in Edgerton where he was immersed in all the old time equipment and activities. When he was younger, he even dressed for the occasion and caught the attention of the local newspaper that put his picture in the paper.
Nearly all of this interest was born out of his love for the family farm just outside of Cambridge. Here he was blessed with the ability to be himself driving the toy tractor, the small lawn mower tractor, the old tractor, the big tractor, or any tractor he could get his hands on when he was old enough. The color of course was of particular interest to him as he became enamored with Case IH brand while the family was almost exclusively John Deere. Almost all John Deere’s though as they had one International that as soon as Dylan could talk he had proclaimed to be his own.
Survivors include his parents David (Jessica) Schoenecke and Miranda (Matt) Schuenke; siblings Riley Schoenecke, Olivia Burks, Avery Schuenke, Owen Schuenke, Evelyn Schoenecke; grandparents Paul and Donna Crossman, John and Maureen Schoenecke, Jeanne Schoenecke, Tim and Peggy Schuenke, and Sandy and Joe McMillan; great-grandma Beatrice Rothschadl; aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Lake Mills Moravian Church.
Visitation will take place on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Lake Mills Moravian Church and on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Burial will be at Rock Lake Cemetery.
Any support you can offer this family in this time of need is greatly appreciated. We love you Dylan and you will be greatly missed. Forever Farming in Heaven.
