On April 14th, we lost Dylan Isamu Gerald, a kind and inspirational friend and family member.
We are creating this GoFundMe in Dylan's memory to raise funds to help build a playground, as we know this is something he would have wanted to do.
Dylan worked for Barnstable Public Schools before his passing, supporting their Before and After School Program, as well as the Child Development Center. His role with the Child Development Center was monumental, as he helped head the department, handling logistics, creating schedules, staffing, and even working directly with the kids in the classroom. He spent countless hours researching how to best serve the children and tried to implement what he learned every day.
Dylan always tried to make a child feel seen, and he wanted to let them know that they were special. He believed that every child he met would feel the same.
Before his tragic passing, Dylan was working on a project to build a new playground for the infant care program at the Barnstable School District. He had already started writing grants for the project but was unable to see it through to completion.
The district hopes to continue with his work and build a new playground for the children. We hope that these funds can help them achieve that goal even faster.
We are grateful for your support of this project. Your donation will help make Dylan's dream a reality and continue to support the children and community that he loved, and loved him right back.
All funds raised through this GoFundMe will go directly to the Barnstable Public Schools District to build the new playground.
