Supporting Dylan’s Heart Surgery

Donation protected
UPDATE:
Dylan's surgery was very successful! At the post op visit, the surgeon said that there was a very large hold that he was able to completely repair. Dylan's heart is functioning normally and he is ahead of the healing curve. Go Dylan!

Genevieve and Jason are so grateful for all the support that was gifted to them. Much love to you all.

Greetings Friends, Family and Colleagues,
We are reaching out to ask for assistance for Dylan Geibel and his family. Dylan was recently
diagnosed with Ventricular Septal Defect (VDS). We are asking for your generosity in raising
funds to help cover costs associated with Dylan’s upcoming surgery and post-op recovery period.
A ventricular septal defect happens during pregnancy if the wall that forms between the two
ventricles does not fully develop, leaving a hole. A ventricular septal defect is one type of
congenital heart defect.
In babies with a ventricular septal defect, blood often flows from the left ventricle through the
ventricular septal defect to the right ventricle and into the lungs. This extra blood being pumped
into the lungs forces the heart and lungs to work harder. Over time, if not repaired, this defect
can increase the risk for other complications, including heart failure, high blood pressure in the
lungs (called pulmonary hypertension), irregular heart rhythms (called arrhythmia), or stroke.
Thankfully, Dylan is under excellent care with his doctors and is scheduled for surgery on
October 30th
. As you might expect, this surgery will require significant recovery time for Dylan
and will affect the family’s ability to continue working regularly for a period of time. As many
of you know, both Jason and Genevieve are self-employed health providers in private practice.
During Dylan’s surgery and recovery time, both parents will be unable to work, which will
create a loss of income. Jason and Genevieve plan to focus solely on Dylan's health and stability
over the next few months and relieving them of added financial pressure would allow them to do
so.
If you are able, please consider a donation and if not, we would be grateful if you could share
this fundraiser and send healing thoughts their way. Thanks for your generosity, compassion and
support.
