My best friend Buster Vogt sadly passed away in May last year. He suddenly collapsed while walking his dog and passed quickly. His cause of death was that he suddenly died because he had Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) which he was only diagnosed after his passing.(HCM) is a disease in which the heart muscle becomes abnormally thick (hypertrophied). The thickened heart muscle can make it harder for the heart to pump blood and in rare cases causes sudden death. Losing Buster was a massive loss to not only his family and friends, but the whole footballing community, and his message 'Be a good friend' has been vocal through Murdoch University Melville F.C. Buster has inspired me and the community and my brother and I want to honour his legacy and do something meaningful towards something that could have helped him. We have decided that we are going to run 10km each, every week, until mid-November. We are doing this and hopefully, you can donate to our cause and all donations will go to the Heart Foundation.
