Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
It is with immense sadness that we share the heart-breaking loss of Dylan "Casper" Smith, who tragically passed away at just 28 years old in a devastating car accident. His life, though filled with struggles, was also one of love, hope, and resilience.
Born into addiction, Dylan faced challenges from the very beginning. Despite the odds, he fought to find his way in this world. His mother, a warrior in her own right, overcame her own battle with addiction and built a brand-new life—one filled with hope and redemption. She never stopped believing in her son, loving him through his darkest moments and celebrating his victories, no matter how small.
Now, she is facing the unimaginable: laying her child to rest.
No mother should ever have to bury her son. The pain is indescribable, and the financial burden of funeral expenses only adds to the heartache. We are reaching out to you, our community, for support in giving Dylan the farewell he deserves. As a single mother of Dylan, his brother and two sisters (twins) who time and time again tried to get her son help & had doors closed in her face. Nobody understands addiction like a mother who loses her son, too young, too soon.
Any amount, big or small, will help ease the costs of funeral services, memorial arrangements, and any additional expenses that arise during this difficult time. If you are unable to contribute financially, we ask that you share this fundraiser and keep Dylan’s family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity. Let’s come together to honour Dylan’s memory and support his family in their time of need.
With love and gratitude, The Australian Counsel on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence (A.C.A.D.D.) Inc.
