Dylan and Family Need Our Help
Donation protected
My nephew Dylan and his wife Cindy have just lost their dream of raising their two children in the serene foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains in Berry Creek, CA on the 5-acre family farm established by my sister, Gayle, some 40 years ago. As Cindy, the kids and the family dog fled to safety, Dylan who is a trained forest fire fighter and once led crews fighting fires in southern Oregon, stayed to try and keep the fire at bay. Sadly, this North Complex West (originally called Bear) Fire is now the largest in California's history and quickly became overwhelming. He and his neighbors safely evacuated but as you've probably read and seen, Berry Creek has been leveled. They are still in shock and absorbing the magnitude of this loss but do want to rebuild. They will need everything, including winter clothes (it snows up there at 2,000'), food, shelter and whatever else it takes to survive and begin the recovery process. Anything you can spare to help them get back on their feet will be much appreciated. My heartfelt thanks for reading their story--I've been feeling helpless and maybe this can contribute a little to restoring them to a good place.
