Dyan’s surgery journey
Donation protected
Hi! I am a close friend of Dyan’s. I’ve known her and her family for almost 20 years.
If you know Dyan, you know she is amazing. Her girls are her world, and she is the best single mom ever! She works hard, plays hard, loves deeply, protects the people she loves fiercely, and is a total badass boss babe. She’s a loyal friend who advocates for the people she loves and always puts others first, even though she’s been dealt some tough hands lately.
She is undergoing Microvascular Decompression (MVD) brain surgery on June 18th. She’s been struggling with Hemifacial Spasms for years, and it’s now severely impacting her daily life. For this procedure, she’ll be seeing one of the best neurosurgeons in the U.S. for this particular surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.
During the surgery, the doctor will move the compressed nerves away from the base of the brain stem, which should help alleviate her condition and bring relief. Dyan and her girls have had some tough conversations, but they’re in this together, and they’ll be with her through it all.
She’ll need to stay out of state for a couple of weeks for surgery and initial recovery. Between the travel, time off work, and medical expenses, I know she is going to need support. Recovery is expected to take about 3 months, though full healing may take a year or more.
I pray that the community that knows and loves her can come together to help and give back to her now. Please donate if you can and share share share! ❤️
