We are a group of Jamaican students currently studying abroad in the United States. Though we are thousands of miles from home, our hearts ache for Jamaica and our people who are suffering right now.
Hurricane Melissa has torn through Southwest Jamaica, leaving behind unimaginable destruction. In St. Elizabeth, Manchester, Westmoreland, Trelawny, and St. James, entire communities have been shattered.
Families have lost their homes, farmers have watched their livelihoods wash away, and thousands of our brothers and sisters are struggling without electricity, clean water, food, or shelter. The images and stories coming from back home are heartbreaking, and we cannot sit by and do nothing.

As Jamaicans, we know that "one one cocoa full basket" and that "it takes a village." We are rallying our networks, our friends, and anyone who will stand with us to bring relief to those who need it most. This is our village, our people, and they need us now.

We want to be completely transparent: We are NOT raising funds for ourselves or our own families. The beneficiaries of this campaign are residents of Southwest Jamaica whom we do not personally know. These are fellow Jamaicans who are in desperate need of emergency relief. None of us have personal or family connections to the individuals who will receive this aid. We are doing this out of humanitarian concern and love for our country.

100% of the funds raised will be used to purchase and deliver emergency supplies directly to affected communities in Southwest Jamaica. Funds will go toward:

• Food supplies – Non-perishable items including rice, flour, canned goods, and other essential food
• Bottled drinking water – Clean, safe drinking water for families in need
• Hygiene and sanitary products – Soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, underwear, toilet paper, and cleaning supplies
• Baby supplies – Formula, diapers, wipes, and other necessities for infants and young children
• First aid and medical supplies – Bandages, antiseptic, pain relievers, and basic medical essentials
• Emergency items – Flashlights, batteries, tarps, and other critical supplies
• Transportation and delivery costs – Ensuring supplies reach remote affected areas

We will work closely with trusted volunteers, established community organizations, and local networks in Jamaica to ensure that supplies reach those who need them most. Every purchase will be documented with receipts, and we will provide regular updates showing exactly how funds are being spent and the impact being made.

As young Jamaicans abroad, we feel a deep responsibility to mobilize support for our country during this difficult time. Thank you for standing with Jamaica. Your generosity will bring relief to families and communities who are struggling to survive and rebuild. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference.

With gratitude and hope,
