Support Kimberly's Fight to Keep Her Home

Hey Everyone! To those that already know me, I'm Kimberly, but if you don't, you probably know me as Kotton Pop!

This is pretty hard for me to write and acknowledge where I am at in life right now, but I desperately need help. By 12/12/2025, if I do not have rent and my power bill paid, my landlord will start the eviction process and my power will be shut off in my home.

Not many people know how I got here because I have tried repeatedly to do my best to not ask others for help or let someone know I'm struggling. This year, 2024, was probably one of my hardest years of life. I was in an abusive relationship while at the same time being the sole breadwinner of my household and had to pay all our finances for the past year on my own.

Due to the hardship of trying to support a family on my own with no preparation, I had to use credit cards to pay bills and be able to afford food. Eventually, because of missing work and deadlines due to this abuse going on in the home, I lost my job or my main source of freelance income.

I am currently, as of 12/9/24, going to be visiting a pawn shop to see all of what I have that could fetch any price, high or low. I have an appointment for an interview for food stamps on 12/11/24 to try to cover food expenses. I have tried to donate blood to gain some income, but my iron levels were too low. I have been eating high iron foods and iron tablets, and on 12/12/24, I will have an appointment to retest to see if I can qualify to donate blood again. At the end of December, I have my bankruptcy court hearing, so I will no longer have large credit debts looming over me.

I have done everything in my power to try to make rent and pay my bills on my own, but I have reached the end of my options.

The amount of this fundraiser would be broken down as such:

The remaining balance is what I need to pay towards my power bills to get up to date with my payments (approx. $400) and all other late fees I have received this month due to not having any more savings. I also pay my lawyer for bankruptcy on the 15th of December, so anything additional would go towards my lawyer fees for my hearing at the end of this month.
