Nick's Memorial Fund
Donation protected
Our dear friend Nick Palmisano passed away last night due to complications with a rare strain of malaria he contracted while on a recent trip to Africa. He came to visit friends in La Paz, Baja and spent a wonderful Xmas Eve dinner with us all. His symptoms flared up and his mum, Kate and step-dad Martin flew down to be by his side. Last night, Dec 28th, his heart failed and they were unable to revive him.
A community of people is in deep shock.
Kate and Martin supported Nick with the hospital bills as he did not have insurance. This fund is to help support all of his family in a time of deep grief as they assimilate this loss and at the same time deal with the many, many details involved in taking Nick home to Maryland.
In order for the family to have time to grieve together without the added burden and stress of exorbitant hospital, transportation and funeral costs - we have created this appeal so they can be with each other for some time and not have to rush back in to busy lives. Nick leaves two brothers, Ben and Cullen, his mum Kate, his dad Mark, his step-dad Martin, sister-in-law Catherine, his step mum Kendra, his two step-sisters Gail and Winter and a huge tribe of friends who love him deeply.
He was a bright light and will be missed by many.
