Hi everyone, my name is Adriana, and my husband Brandon and I are doing everything we can to care for our sweet 12-year-old Yorkie, Max. He’s been with us for most of our adult lives—our little shadow, full of love, attitude, and his signature grumpiness.
Last week, Max suddenly got really sick. He was urinating blood and stopped eating, so we rushed him to the emergency vet. After a ton of testing and several days of hospitalization, we found out he has kidney failure, pancreatitis, and a urinary tract infection. His kidney levels are dangerously high, and while there’s been a tiny bit of improvement, things are still really serious.
He’s been on fluids, injections, and meds around the clock. We were referred to a kidney specialist at a veterinary ER hospital, and that is resulting in even more treatments and procedures. The costs have already added up to over $5,000, and we’re not sure how much more is ahead.
We never thought we’d be in this position, but we’re reaching out because Max is worth fighting for. He’s family. He’s been with us through everything—moves, job changes, tough days, celebrations—you name it. He’s grown up alongside our other dogs, Mikasa and Olly, and we’re just not ready to say goodbye.
If you’re able to help us cover some of his medical costs, we’d be so grateful. Every little bit truly helps. And if you can’t donate, we completely understand—just sharing this would mean a lot to us too.
Thank you for reading, and for caring about our little guy. We’re holding onto hope and doing everything we can to give him a chance.
With love,
Adriana, Brandon, Mikasa, Olly & Max
