Hi, my name is Danielle, and I’m setting up this GoFundMe for someone incredibly dear to me, my beautiful friend Michelle.

Michelle has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, and she now faces a long and difficult road ahead, filled with surgeries, treatments, and recovery. As you can imagine, this diagnosis has turned her world upside down.

Michelle is one of those rare souls who would give you the shirt off her back without a second thought. She’s the first to show up when someone else is in need, always offering her help, her time, and her heart. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.

Due to the intensity of her treatment plan, Michelle will need to take a lot of time off work. This means she’ll not only be facing a daunting medical journey but also the financial stress of lost income and increasing medical and living expenses.

This GoFundMe is to help ease some of that burden so Michelle can focus all her strength and energy on healing, without the added worry of how she’ll pay her bills or afford the care she needs.

To show my love and support, I’ve committed to running 21 kilometres on the 21st of June, 2025, in honour of Michelle’s journey and fight. And later that evening, I will be shaving my head as a symbol of solidarity—with Michelle and every woman facing the fear, pain, and uncertainty that breast cancer brings.
