Concepcion Garcia is Director at a Casa Hogar in Mexicali, Mexico. She has made it her life’s mission to care for children who have been removed from their homes as a result of domestic abuse. Some of the kids had been abandoned and lived on the streets prior to their arrival to her Casa Hogar (orphanage). Her philosophy is that with God and Love, the children are able to heal from the traumas they have endured.
She cares for 26 children ranging from ages 1-17 and is responsible for clothing and feeding them as well as generating money for the household utilities.
Currently the orphanage is in danger of being closed down because they are not receiving enough financial aid from the government or other sources.
If people came together and adopted this orphanage, the quality of life for the kids would drastically improve. A future for these kids would be created.
The cost of keeping the Casa Hogar open for 2016 is $10,800 U.S. Dollars
I am Vera Villalvazo, a Photographer, who heard of Concha's story and was compelled to help. What matters to me is making a difference in the lives of kids and empowering them. I am committed to sharing Concha's story and getting this Casa Hogar adopted.
You can make a difference by becoming part of the extended family for these kids by contributing. Please feel free to contact both Concepcion and myself to learn more about how to get involved. Thank you so much.
