Ayuda a Valentina en su Camino a la Recuperación

Querida comunidad,

Me dirijo a ti con la intención de contarte la historia de mi querida hija Valentina (Val).

Val sufrió dos infartos cerebrales, también conocido como Accidente Cerebro Vasculares (ACV) en diciembre 2023, y este evento ha cambiado su vida por completo, y la de nuestra familia. Val, a sus 45 años, siempre ha sido una persona saludable y de mente ágil, lo que significa que este trágico evento fuera completamente inesperado y retador.

La vida de Val antes del incidente: aquellos que conocen a Val saben lo dedicada que es a su profesión, una mujer de alta capacidad intelectual y comprometida con todo lo que emprende. Ella es una amante de la buena comida, adora a los animales, especialmente a su perro Tokyo y tiene una gran pasión por viajar y conocer otras culturas.

El incidente y su diagnóstico: por la noche del 17 de diciembre de 2023, Val comenzó a experimentar mareos y fosfenos de manera súbita mientras estaba sola en su casa. Dos días después, a la 1:00 pm, fue encontrada en el suelo por amigos y trasladada de emergencia al Centro Médico ABC Santa Fe en Ciudad de México, donde actualmente reside. El diagnóstico inicial indico hemiplejía (parálisis) izquierda, hemihipoestesia ipsilateral, heminegligencia y hemianopsia homónima. Una tomografía de cráneo reveló infartos cerebrales (ACV) en el territorio de la arteria cerebral media y posterior derechas, y una angioTC mostró oclusión carotídea derecha.

Proceso de rehabilitación: Luego de haber sido sometida a periodos de coma inducidos y semanas de terapia intensiva. Val inició su proceso de recuperación que consistió en rehabilitación intensiva física y ocupacional. Val es una GUERRERA y, si bien ha avanzado mucho, el camino que falta es todavía largo y son muchas las batallas por librar. A pesar de estos esfuerzos, las secuelas físicas y cognitivas todavía son importantes. Actualmente enfrenta problemas en la atención visual, alteraciones en la memoria visual, dificultad en el campo visual y con la orientación espacial, además de una movilidad reducida debido a la parálisis en el lado izquierdo del cuerpo, la cual ha ido recuperando lentamente.

Impacto emocional y financiero: tanto para Val como para nuestra familia, ha sido un “Everest” de emociones y desafíos. Val, quien siempre ha sido extremadamente independiente, ahora depende de otros para las tareas básicas del día a día. La ayuda de enfermeras también es crucial para su cuidado médico continuo y recuperación. Aunque ha demostrado una VALentía increíble, la realidad es que nuestra familia ha agotado todos los recursos económicos disponibles.

Cobertura del seguro y deudas: es importante aclarar que el seguro privado de Val cubrió muchos de los gastos médicos. Sin embargo, no todo era cubierto. Esto nos dejó con una deuda considerable en el Centro Médico, y lamentablemente, Val ha tenido que detener su rehabilitación debido a la falta de fondos, lo que es crítico para la continuación de su recuperación.

OBJETIVO DE LA RECAUDACIÓN:

Estamos buscando recaudar US$ 31,000 (568,284 Pesos Mexicanos - MXN $) para reanudar las terapias y cuidados médicos necesarios que permitan a Val continuar su camino hacia la recuperación total. Las terapias diarias maximizarán sus posibilidades de mejora.

Cada donación, por pequeña que sea, suma, y nos acerca un paso más a brindarle a Val la oportunidad de volver a ser la persona vibrante e independiente que siempre ha sido.

Help Valentina on Her Way to Recovery

Dear community,

I am reaching out to share the story of my dear daughter Valentina (Val).

Val suffered two strokes in December 2023, and this event has completely changed her life and that of our family. At 45 years old, Val has always been healthy and sharp-minded, which made this tragic event completely unexpected and challenging.

Val's life before the incident: Those who know Val know her dedication to her professional career, high intellectual capacity, and commitment to everything she undertakes. She loves good food, adores animals, especially her dog Tokyo, and is passionate about travelling and exploring other cultures.

The incident and her diagnosis: On the night of December 17, 2023, Val suddenly started experiencing dizziness and seeing flashing lights while she was alone at home. Two days later, at 1:00 pm, she was found on the floor by friends and rushed to the ABC Medical Center in Santa Fe, Mexico City, where she currently resides. The initial diagnosis indicated left hemiplegia (paralysis), ipsilateral hemihypesthesia, hemineglect, and homonymous hemianopsia. A CT scan revealed brain infarctions (CVA) in the territory of the right middle and posterior cerebral arteries, and an angioCT showed right carotid occlusion.

Rehabilitation process: After undergoing periods of induced coma and weeks of intensive therapy, Val began her recovery process, which consisted of intensive physical and occupational rehabilitation. Val is a WARRIOR, and while she has made significant progress, the road ahead is still long, and there are many battles to fight. Despite these efforts, the physical and cognitive sequelae are still substantial. She currently faces issues with visual attention, visual memory alterations, difficulty in the visual field and spatial orientation, in addition to reduced mobility due to paralysis on the left side of her body, which she has been slowly recovering.

Emotional and financial impact: For both Val and our family, it has been an "Everest" of emotions and challenges. Val, who has always been extremely independent, now depends on others for basic daily tasks. The help of nurses is also crucial for her ongoing medical care and recovery. Although she has shown incredible bravery, the reality is that our family has exhausted all available economic resources.

Insurance coverage and debts: It is important to clarify that Val's private insurance covered many medical expenses. However, not everything was covered. This left us with considerable debt at the Medical Center, and unfortunately, Val had to stop her rehabilitation due to lack of funds, which is critical for her continued recovery.

FUNDRAISING GOAL:

We are seeking to raise US$31,000 (568,284 Mexican peso MXN $) to resume the necessary therapies and medical care to allow Val to continue her path to full recovery. Daily therapies will maximize her chances of improvement.

Every donation, no matter how small, adds up and brings us one step closer to allowing Val to become the vibrant and independent person she has always been.
