Save My Only Son

Dear friends, supporters and sympathizers,

My name is Wael Abudraz, a 47 year old Palestinian, a father of a 15-year-old child and a refugee claimant in Canada.

My wife and only son are trapped in Gaza fleeing from one place to another for their safety.

I am raising funds for the emergency evacuation of my wife and son in Gaza. I hope your help and generosity will allow me raise $30,000 to be used for evacuation and resettlement in Canada. The costs will include transportation, temporary accommodation, flight and other basic expenses.

I appeal to you as a father who is afraid for his family. As a human who wants to give life and hope to his most precious possession, a son.

My family was subjected to four evacuations after our house in East Khan Yunis was destroyed depriving us not only shelter but also cherished memories. The loss is immeasurable, and the daily struggle for survival has become increasingly difficult.

My son and all children deserve to live in peace and safety, free from traumas and violence.

Fortunately, my brother in law, in Canada, filled out an application to bring my wife and son to Canada based on the Immigration Minister Marc Miller's announcement of granting Temporary Visas for Extended Family Members in Gaza. The new Policy requires approved extended family members to be responsible for all their travel expenses and settlement needs in Canada.

I am desperately seeking financial assistance to evacuate my wife and son from Gaza. Our immediate goal is to support their flee to a safe place through Rafah Border to Egypt, and then into Canada where we can rebuild our shattered lives. The funds will be used for essential needs such as temporary housing, food, medical care, air tickets and accommodation throughout the journey.
