School is Cool 2017-2018

Greetings! This is our fourth consecutive year and  we would like to once again ask for your support, dear friends and family, to help raise funds and purchase backpacks and school supplies for these beautiful yet underprivileged children in my hometown of Tarlac, Philippines. I grew up in this town and remember going to my elementary school, walking in my uniform in basic shoes, small bag and umbrella. We were poor and it's difficult to imagine there were families even poorer than ours who could not afford these basic things.  Some families opt to not send their children to school because they couldn't afford tsinelas ("flip flops") to walk in.

PAY IT FORWARD - My family was lucky enough to have had the opportunity to migrate to the US in the late 70's.  We were absolutely fortunate to be welcomed by my one of sister's new family in Utah by marriage.  They accepted us as their own.  They helped us to establish our family, enrolled us in the schools, helped my parents and my older siblings find jobs.  My family and I have been blessed and I will pay it forward.  That is what I will do and will continue to do for as long as I possibly can. Here's an example of what your donation can buy:

$5 - one backpack with school supplies
$10 - two backpacks with school supplies
$25 - five backpacks with school supplies

My goal this year is to reach $1500 in donations.  $1000 will purchase 200 backpacks with supplies and $500 will go towards shoes and uniforms for some of the recipients who are in need of these additional items.
