Thank you for visiting Michael’s fundraiser. We appreciate ongoing prayers and support during this brutal time. Prior to this diagnosis Michael was healthy and lived the normal life of a young adult. Unfortunately things shifted drastically In October when he was doing what he loves, showing houses in Northern Kentucky. He had a seizure, lost consciousness and was transported to the hospital. After extensive testing Michael was told that the seizure he had was triggered by a brain tumor that had been growing for years. The tumor appeared to be low grade but doctors encouraged the operation Immediately. Michael and his family made the decision to get him to NYC after being connected with the top team of neurosurgeons who were able to successfully remove the tumor. He made it through surgery like a champ, but unfortunately experienced setbacks with his speech due to the size and location of the tumor. Weeks later we were informed that pathology reported the tumor was not what they expected, but a higher grade and cancerous cells were present. Because of this, Michael is currently having to go through radiation and chemo therapy treatments for 6-12 months. Due to being in NYC for treatment and COVID restrictions Michael has been isolated from friends and family during this time. Not only is he quarantined during treatment, we are anticipating upon his return home he still may not be able to fully work again due to his compromised immunity. At this time he is unable to travel home and hasn’t worked since October. Unfortunately Kentucky is one of the five states that does not have short term disability and due to being an independent contractor his income had stopped completely. We are asking for any assistance to raise funds to support pay his medical bills and other expenses that have accumulated during his road to recovery.
